Two For the Price of One.
WEST CHESTER, Pa. - A judge, moments after
sentencing a man to more time in prison for hiding marijuana in his
underwear, performed a wedding ceremony for the inmate and his fiancee.
Chester County Judge Paula Francisco Ott, after adding 6 to 23 months to
Marcus Tian Washington's prison term, then officiated the marriage between
Washington and the bride, 19-year-old Timalin Douglass.
Washington was caught with marijuana inside Chester County Prison while
awaiting sentencing on separate charges. He was sentenced to 4 to 8 years
in prison for striking a man in the head with a beer bottle at a
Phoenixville tavern and then shooting at him in July 2002.
And although the couple are officially married, it
looks like the newly weds will have to wait a while before they take their
honeymoon.
