Getting Outfoxed.

This suing stuff has got to stop at some point, doesn't it? When they say that everyone is suing everyone else, they aren't just a whistling Dixie. Now it seems that the creator of the Simpsons claims that Rupert Murdoch's Fox News Channel threatened to sue Rupert Murdoch's Fox Entertainment over a light hearted parody of the channel's right-wing political stance.

Now let me see if I can get this straight. The Simpsons TV show is broadcast on Fox's sister network, Fox Entertainment. And Fox News threatened to bring a lawsuit against Fox Entertainment. Both are owned by Murdoch. So wouldn't Murdoch in essence be suing himself?

According to The Simpson's maker, Fox News took exception to a Simpsons' version of the Fox News rolling news ticker which parodied the channel's anti-Democrat stance, with headlines like "Do Democrats Cause Cancer?" Other satirical Fox news bulletins featured in the show included: "Study: 92 per cent of Democrats are gay... JFK posthumously joins Republican Party... Oil slicks found to keep seals young, supple..."

Fox News got ticked off and said they would sue The Simpsons show.

Can you give me a break, please? For crying out loud, does anyone have even a semblance of a sense of humor anymore?

Even though Fox News decided not to sue Fox Entertainment, a new rule was put in place that prohibits Fox Entertainment from doing those little fake news crawls on the bottom of the screen in a cartoon because it might confuse the viewers into thinking it's real news.

I'm glad we got that straight.
